Bart prince - The Model Architect

Dwell Post

Bart Prince Website

Bart Prince has long been commended for his approach to architecture. Often experimenting and finding the end result in play of all places. Manipulating a model building material like chip board and balsa wood leads to remarkable discoveries, especially in engineering, amongst other things. Always keeping in mind the concept of inside out and never foregoing the clients needs, Bart Prince creates masterful works of art.

It’s truly in the details where you’ll find the purpose and reason behind the shape, form and/or design. By constantly being mindful of the design intention, first and foremost, it wouldn’t be irrational to conclude that the architecture itself is ordered chaos. He has created an architectural vernacular by questioning how others work and even in the lessons he was taught.

“Architecture to me is like music, it has a quality or mystery about it. I had a professor in school that use to think that on first seeing any building that you ought to immediately know what it was for, how to get in and all this stuff. And I always thought…that’s awfully boring.”      - Bart Prince
